Burning Blue
This piece was created as part of a collection of studies of dying flowers.
I'm not very good with flowers and plants, I'm the kind of person who leaves flowers in a vase waay past their 'best', and quite enjoy watching the changes that happen while they're wilting, the changes in colour, shapes of petals and changes in texture. This fascination led to a few different paintings capturing wilting flowers (including "The End of Iris", one of my favourite pieces).
I've tried to capture that something at the end of it's lifecycle can be just as beautiful as in it's prime, but in a very different way,
This piece is printed on high quality archival paper, and sent in a protective biodegradable cellophane sleeve.
