Hi! I'm Fran and I'm a Sheffield based Artist/Maker.

I completed a Foundation Diploma in Art and Design at Chesterfield College (focusing on illustration), then went on to receive a Degree in Psychology, dabbled in payroll, and then decided that wasn't for me, so I'm currently trying to give this Artist thing a go!

I primarily create works using acrylic paint on canvas, and I have been developing my style over the last 3 years in a range of subjects from landscape and seascapes (or any kind of scape really!), to single subject paintings, usually of animals and plants against messy splashy bright backgrounds, and completely abstract poured acrylic paintings.

Not one to just stick with one thing, I've also tried my hand at many a craft, including lino printing, candle making, bag making and textile works, and jewellery making (and many, maaaaany more).

As well as traditional paintings, I gave fluid art a go a couple of years ago and found out I love it, the colours, the unpredictability and the fact that every piece is totally unique. Playing with poured painting has also led to creating jewellery and accessory pieces made using off pours of paint (or "puddles") from the larger pieces in an attempt to reduce the waste (and because the puddles were just far to gorgeous to throw away), leading to a whole range of completely unique and affordable jewellery and accessories I've since named Florence and Fancy.
